Statement of Care for God’s Creation

Approved by the Session and presented to the congregations of First Presbyterian Church on Earth Sunday, April 26, 2009:

We at First Presbyterian Church in Bloomington are called to serve as stewards of the earth to protect and

nurture our environment for future generations. We envision a world in which all people treat God’s creation

with reverence and gratitude.

Within our own congregation we seek to promote sustainable practices throughout our building and grounds

and to provide educational opportunities and information about how to work toward lives in greater harmony

with creation.

Within the wider community we will collaborate with other congregations and local organizations to strengthen

a mission of non-partisan environmental advocacy.
